Two Teens Arrested For Murder Of 26-Year-Old Father Found Shot To Death In Maryland

Two teens have been arrested for their alleged roles in the murder of a popular 26-year-old father who was gunned down in Southern Maryland earlier this month.

Jo’Mir Omar Norman, 18 and Brian Jermaine Wongus, Jr. 15, both of Cambridge have been arrested and charged in connection to the fatal shooting of Virgil Simms last weekend in Dorchester County. 

According to Maryland State Police, at around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, officers from the Cambridge Police Department responded to the area of Pine Street and Dunns Court to investigate a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, they found the 26-year-old Simms suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the sidewalk, where he was pronounced dead by first responders.

Norman and Wongus are both charged with first-degree murder. Both are being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center without bond.
